Hope Macaulay

A warm, oversized chef’s kiss - we’ve been obsessed with Hope Macaulay’s hand-knitted designs since the brand launched in 2020. Made to order by a team of 20 knitters, Hope’s pastel pieces are made of merino and Corriedale wool sourced from RWS (responsible wool standard) certified farms, biodegradable nylon, bamboo and silk.

In addition to donating excess wool to aspiring design students and charitable organisations, the woman-owned fashion brand has launched new products including the Scrap Colossal Knit jackets and cushions to minimise on excess waste. You can feel confident that you’ve left nothing but a positive impact on the planet when you shop Hope Macaulay.

The Amateur Weather Observers

This Amateur Weather Observers vest, hand-made using traceable British Wool, deserves to take a big bow.

Each garment is hand-made using 100% British wool and takes four weeks to reach its new owner. In addition to offering detailed garment care advice on their website, the brand also offers a free repair service, free of charge where possible, so you can love your garment for a lifetime.

WHATMEGKNITS

If you’re into your 60s and 70s knitwear, try this mohair sweater on for size. Since launching in 2020, WHAT MEG KNITS has become known for its intricate, tapestry-clad knitwear. Founded by Camberwell UAL graduate, Megan Ellie, the brand uses ethically sourced materials for timeless knits, made to order and designed to be handed down through generations to come.

Boasting popular stockists like ATIKA London and DIYARTMARKETLONDON, it’s hard to believe that Meg’s garments are designed, machine-knitted and finalised from home.

Yoke Studio

Made by the Rocchi family, a family-run artisan company in Perugia, using yarns sourced by Manifattura Sesia, a zero-impact industry leader in sustainability, Yoke Studio is a leader in sustainable knitwear.

Using 70% RMS-certified super kid mohair (with natural antibacterial traits) and 30% naturally grown and pesticide-free mulberry silk (a naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial fibre), Yoke’s mohair jumper is kind on both animals and people. Each garment boasts a classic design and durable, natural materials, encouraging each customer to treat their garment with evermore care and love.

Rows Knitwear

You may boast a wardrobe full of cable knits, but do you own a Rows Knitwear cable knit jacket? I think knot.

Founded by English-born, Amsterdam-based knitwear designer, Alice Hoyle, Rows Knitwear celebrates artisan knits sported by our adored grandparents. Rows Knitwear’s limited-edition designs are crafted by Alice using 100% natural, deadstock yarn and mulesing-free alpaca wool. All leftover fabrics are used to create ready-to-ship garments.

Unlike other brands, Rows encourages customers to make their own garments by selling knitting patterns directly on their website.
